As part of the development of a new, state-of-the-art educational facility, Castleford College required a high-performance roofing system that would provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and low maintenance. The roof was constructed over a D200 metal decking substrate with trapezoidal acoustic roof infills, providing excellent structural integrity and acoustic control suited to a busy educational setting.
The completed roofing system was fully warranted with a 20-year Sika guarantee, ensuring long-term reliability and client confidence.
This was a complex new build project, requiring careful coordination with other key trades — particularly the cladding and SFS (Steel Framing System) installers. Effective communication and sequencing on site were critical to maintaining progress and avoiding interface issues at upstands, perimeters, and penetrations.
Working collaboratively with the main contractor and design team, the roofing works were completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of finish, fully compliant with Sika’s installation guidelines and British Standards.
